A Few Reviews…

“One of a kind, wonderful experience!!!”

I was in need of a quiet location to complete some important work (and R&R;) in the Tucson area; the Blue agave was recommended by a good friend who resides nearby. For years I have seen and admired the setting and stunning structure of the former ‘La Zarzuela’ from afar on my trips to the az-Sonoran Desert Museum and was overly pleased and fortunate to have the opportunity to stay. There is no place like this anywhere -there is something immediately special about driving up through the grand wrought-iron gates to this secluded, peaceful hilltop location overlooking a glorious, lush desert valley nestled in the Tucson mountains. The Blue agave is majestic in all respects.Every view, every turn, every corner, every detail was spectacular and inspired a calm, euphoric feeling throughout my stay. a beautiful, colorful sunrise over the mountains and lush desert flora, feeling the warm sun on my private patio under the arms of a huge Saguaro, sitting with a steaming cup of delicious coffee… amazingly watching deer as two cactus wrens explored at my feet -what a wonderful way to start a day. The nights…a little fire in ‘my own’ chimenea… stars, owls and desert wildlife… so peaceful. The room was luxurious -intriguing art, a carved armoire, mesquite furniture, Tiffany lamp, the tile sink, decor -were all so well done and constantly pleasing. The hosts are wonderful welcoming people and add to the comfort of this amazing place. There is so much to explore within the home, courtyards, patios and the expansive grounds -one can find oneself easily wandering into the canyons and desert mountains of the adjoining park. Though so private there is easy access via a relaxing, meandering saguaro-studded road to nearby (~7 min) shopping or delicious ‘real’ cultural food. If you wish to truly experience the warmth and serenity of the Southwest in addition to the unique sensation of ‘belonging here’ the Blue agave provides this and more. Highly recommended!
